Last week, half of the Carlson grandkids visited the Capitol. They are one of the main reasons that I ran for office. I want to do all I can to keep our state free from progressive regulations so they can live free from Idaho government over reach. The Idaho Legislature is in the home stretch. The Senate and House will be voting on the last of the Appropriation bills in the next couple of days.
The Library bill HB710 is on the Senate 3rd Reading Calendar. I am hopeful that this important piece of legislation will pass. Believe it or not, Idaho’s children currently have access to “pornography” or “harmful material” in some of Idaho’s libraries and schools. Most parents and grandparents don’t realize how bad the material is that kids are being given access to. This material includes graphic depictions of various sexual acts in every manner possible. Other material is graphically described in sensual details in novel form and one book named PUSH is about a young woman who is repeatedly raped and is then impregnated by her own father. The story continues with the father then turning and attempting to sexually abuse the baby he has also fathered. I do not need to go further.
My question is WHY? Why do so many people in positions of authority insist on protecting and keeping the harmful materials accessable to children in the libraries and schools? I have received way too many emails demanding that I vote NO and to Not Protect Kids from this filth! Many of you are aware and shared with me that we are dealing with pure evil. Please watch and pay attention in the next couple of days. If this bill passes the Senate Floor and is sent to Governor Little, please encourage him by emails and phone calls to sign this bill into LAW. Idaho’s kids desperately need your help to protect them! Let’s get this over the finish line.
Thank you for your efforts and support!
Senator Cindy Carlson
